The Ishtar Center for Democracy Support in the holy city of Najaf held a panel discussion in which the enlightened cleric, Mr. Mudar Al-Helou, was hosted, in the presence of a group of Najafi scientific, cultural and youth elites. The session dealt with two axes:
- The dialectic of religion and the state and the relationship of religion to politics in modern and contemporary concepts.
- Social change, community awareness mechanisms and the role of cultural and religious elites in this aspect.
