Youth Nexus
From enquiry to action.
A six-month learning journey for 100 young people from across Iraq: funded training workshops, then a team project you deliver with programme funding.
What is Youth Nexus?
A learning journey of about 6 months for 100 young people from governorates across Iraq.
Fully funded training workshops
Participants join as groups in training workshops of 4 consecutive days, with every cost covered by the programme. The workshops are designed around the British Council's learning methodologies in cooperation with Ishtar Center for Democracy Support, and cover a mix of subjects: general ones in the personal domain, and specialised ones in governance.
From an idea to a funded project
Trainees take part in group workshops to think through projects, then discuss them with the programme management. The management matures and develops each project, and funds the ones it approves.
Delivery and the closing conference
The working groups deliver their projects in consultation with stakeholders and decision-makers. Once the projects are delivered, the programme's closing conference is held.
