The Ishtar Center held a session entitled (Challenges of Building a Civil State in Iraq), in which the former Iraqi Prime Minister and Vice President of the Republic, Dr. Iyad Allawi, hosted, and the discussion topics were: The dialectic of the civil state in the articles and provisions of the Iraqi constitution. The civil current’s position on religions and religious institutions. The position of civil currents on social and clan institutions. The role of civil society organizations, associations, unions and federations in consolidating the foundations of the modern civil state. The importance of the role of women in advanced civil countries. The role of youth in establishing liberal and modernist values and concepts.
