The Ishtar Center for Democracy Support in the holy city of Najaf held a panel discussion in which the enlightened cleric, Mr. Mudar Al-Helou, was hosted, in the presence of a group of Najafi scientific, cultural and youth elites. The session dealt with two axes: The dialectic of religion and the state and the relationship of religion to politics in modern and contemporary concepts. Social change, community awareness mechanisms and the role of cultural and religious elites in this aspect.
