Provincial elections conference

- Speaker: Dr. Ahmad Al-Fatlawi – Secretary General of Provincial Affairs in the Prime Minister’s Office and the government representative in the Iraqi Parliament.
- Platform Director: Dr. Muhammad Elwia – Head of the Ishtar Center.
The platform discussed the Iraqi government’s vision towards the upcoming provincial elections and how to invest them to achieve development and stability in the provinces. It also discussed the government’s ability to provide the necessary political and administrative environments for holding these elections according to standards of transparency and integrity, in coordination with the Iraqi Parliament.
The conference aims to bring together societal elites and policy makers from political forces and government figures in order to mature the legal, political and administrative procedural paths for the upcoming provincial council elections in order to increase participation in the elections and ensure real social representation.
