The Najaf Conference was held on September 13, 2021 at the Al-Alamein Institute titled:
(Early elections between participation opportunities and challenges)
In the presence of representatives from the Prime Minister’s Office for Election Affairs, the Najaf Governorate Elections Office, and a large number of representatives of non-governmental organizations, community and protest leaders from a number of Iraqi provinces.
The activities of the conference on the upcoming elections in Najaf governorate and all the technical procedures accompanying the electoral process as well as the surrounding political atmosphere took place on the hall of the Al-Alamein Institute for Graduate Studies.
Within the activities of the conference, three discussions sessions were held:
The first was attended by the commission’s cadres and election experts
The second was a simulation of the voting process on election day
The third was for civil institutions and personalities
Speakers and participants discussed the commission’s preparations for holding the elections, the importance of participation, the technology used in the electoral process, and the expectations of civil society representatives regarding the participation rate and its impact on the political map for the post-election period.
