Ishtar Center for Democracy Support Participates in Conference on “Building Political Commitment Toward Women” in Sulaymaniyah Baghdad – Ishtar Center Media Dr. Ahmed Hameed, Director of Research Programs at the Ishtar Center for Democracy Support, participated in the conference titled **“Building Political Commitment Toward Women’s Participation and Leadership,”** organized by Asuda Organization in Sulaymaniyah last Thursday. The conference, supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Iraq, brought together a number of officials from the Federal Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, as well as representatives of civil society organizations and research institutions from across Iraq. Discussions focused on key strategic dimensions of women’s empowerment, including strengthening political and institutional support for women’s participation in decision-making, improving the legislative and security environment for their protection, advancing leadership and economic empowerment, and enhancing women’s active role in peacebuilding and crisis management.
