
As part of the follow-up on the outcomes of the Baghdad Forum for young Leaders held by the Ishtar Center for Democracy Support July 3rd, 2024, the center hosted a group of young leaders and activists from Dhi Qar Province at its headquarters in Baghdad. The visit was part of a tour organized for them by the Masarat Foundation in Baghdad. The president of the center, Dr. Mohammed Elwia, provided a summary of the forum’s outcomes and highlighted the importance of coordination, integration, and institutional work, drawing on the center’s experience in supporting youth initiatives. The discussion focused on the challenges facing the efforts of youth striving for influence and change. It also reviewed the experiences of young people in Iraq, particularly in Dhi Qar Province, with Abbas Kamel Jader, head of Al-Qaseet Foundation and leader of the delegation, presenting a summary of the most significant challenges they face. Dr. Saad Salloum, the general coordinator of the Masarat Foundation, emphasized the importance of integrating the experiences of youth from various provinces across the country to support the establishment of a state of citizenship and reinforce the values of dialogue among the diverse components of Iraqi society.
